My learning experience (Zaid)

My experience on the trip was very good and also educational. My experience taking the many types of transportations was also fun and interesting. For example, the LRT (light rail transit) service was good because the trains were quite frequent and the ride was smooth. The trains and the other public transportations are also a very convenient way to travel. The cost is also quite cheap. The trains and the stations were also clean and I saw there were many facilities for the disabled people which was good.

Although, as for the Genting Express Bus Service, the service it was bad. When we wanted to put the bags in the compartment outside, the bus coordinator didn't help to open it. We didn't know how to open it and the coordinator just stood there and gave bad instructions. Another bus driver was also very rude and impolite to us when we needed to change buses because the first bus broke down. And as for the Skyway cable cars, it was a fantastic experience going down because the view was breathtaking. Overall, my experience taking the different types of transportation was good.

As for my learning experience, I learned that it is very important to be organised and have a detailed plan before embarking on a trip. For instance, it was a mistake to buy the bus tickets to Genting that was departing at 1 p.m. because it gave us a limited time to reach KL Sentral from Taylor's University College. The reason is because we had a class on that day until 11.30 a.m, which gave us only about 90 minutes to reach KL Sentral. There is not enough time if something wrong should happen for example the train broke down. This will seriously delay our time table and cause major problems. So, we should have planned it more thoroughly to avoid any unnecessary problems.

Moreover, I learned that having a Plan B is very important just in case the original plan does not workout. I also feel that keeping our composure and adapting to situations when under pressure is very vital so that we can think clearly on what to do next. For example, when we missed the Taylor's bus to go to the train station and there were no taxis available, we quickly planned to hitch a ride in Emir's father's car to the LRT station in a race against time to catch the Genting bound bus. Another situation was when we missed the Genting bus because of the first incident, we kept calm and thought of a solution. So we went to the Gombak station to get on the next earliest bus to Genting. We also had to deal with the problem when Afu was feeling high altitude sickness. I had never experienced it before but with the help of the others we manage to help Afu.

In conclusion, for me it was a very valuable experience going on this trip because it taught me how to plan and organize the trip, adapt to problems along the way and expect the unexpected. I would also like to thank Ms. Madelyn for giving us this opportunity to experience and learn something new.
